Fraudsters in Ghana show us how they use internet scams to steal thousands of dollars from unsuspecting victims all over the globe. -- While Nigeria's 401 scammers may have written the book on West African internet fraud, their shtick looks like Compuserve compared to what's going on in Ghana. Unsatisfied with the meager winnings from emailing thousands of random Westerners in hopes of convincing one poor sap they're the treasurer of the Ivory Coast, Ghana's scammers decided to stack the odds in their favor the old-fashioned way—witchcraft. Taking a page from cyberpunk, traditional West African Juju priests adapted their services to the needs of the information age and started leading down-on-their-luck internet scammers through strange and costly rituals designed to increase their powers of persuasion and make their emails irresistible to greedy Americans. And so "Sakawa" was born. Now not only is Sakawa Ghana's most popular youth activity and one of its biggest underground economies, it's a full-blown national phenomenon. Sakawa has its own tunes, clothing brands, Sakawasploitation flicks, and even a metastatic backlash from Christian preachers and the press. When we were in Accra over the summer it was impossible to walk more than 10 feet without seeing the word Sakawa in blood-red Misfits letters on a poster or tabloid, often accompanied by bone-chilling horrors of the photoshopped variety. The government is freaked out because Sakawa is threatening Ghana's business reputation, the Christians are freaked out because they're losing money to the Juju priests, the press is freaked out because being freaked out is what sells papers, and the public is freaked out because their government, preacher, and media are all telling them they should be. All the while the Sakawa boys are living the high life and racking up debts to the spirit world, just waiting for the axe to fall. Work on the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange which involves detailed engineering and construction of the old Circle into a three-tier interchange and other ancillary works including drainage, terminals, pedestrian walkways and landscaping is progressing steadily and according to schedule. This circle is named after the first President of the Republic of Ghana. It is a central point in Accra and life never stops here. It has a lovely fountain at the center which is switched on during special occasions. The name was changed to National Liberation Circle, after the National Liberation Council which overthrew the government of Kwame Nkrumah in 1966. The name was reversed to Nkrumah Circle by the Acheampong Regime. There was a notorious man, Salifu Amankwaa, who during the Provisional National Defense Council,PNDC, era, was in charge of the maintenance of law and order and the general cleanliness here, sometimes with somewhat unpleasant results. The new face of the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange started by the Mahama led administration ,is a three tier interchange being constructed to replace the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in the centre of the city of Accra. The construction of the interchange became necessary when the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, which handles over 84,000 vehicles from the arterial roads and their intersections daily. The current roads could no longer ensure effective and efficient tackling of the traffic congestion challenges. On 3 June 2015, a GOIL fuel station near the interchange exploded killing at least 150 people. The disaster was exacerbated by floodwaters which caused the fuel to spread as it floated and burned, killing additional people. The project, when completed in September will effectively and efficiently tackle the traffic congestion challenges currently being experienced, and ensure improved drainage and pedestrian safety among others. Other notable points from the Kwame Nkrumah Circle are as follows: •Obetsebi Lamptey Circle 1.8 km •African Unity Circle 2.3 km •Danquah Circle 3.8 km •Akuafo Circle 4.3 km •Rana Roundabout 25 km •French Embassy Roundabout 29 km

Instagram is an online mobile photo-sharing, video-sharing, and social networking service that enables its users to take pictures and videos, and share them either publicly or privately on the app, as well as through a variety of other social networking platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Flickr.[6] Originally, a distinctive feature was that it confined photos to a square shape, similar to Kodak Instamatic and Polaroid images, in contrast to the 4:3 aspect ratio typically used by mobile device cameras. In August 2015, version 7.5 was released, allowing users to post photos captured in any aspect ratio. Users can also apply digital filters to their images. The maximum duration for Instagram videos is 15 seconds.[7] Instagram was created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, and launched in October 2010 as a free mobile app. The service rapidly gained popularity, with over 100 million active users as of April 2012[8][9] and over 300 million as of December 2014.[10] Instagram is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play.[11] Support for the app is available for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Android handsets, while third-party Instagram apps are available for BlackBerry 10 and Nokia-Symbian Devices.[12][13] The service was acquired by Facebook in April 2012 for approximately US$1 billion in cash and stock.[14] In 2013, Instagram grew by 23%, while Facebook, as the parent company, only grew by 3%.[15]
